Built by an engineer.
Run like one.
Cavalry is a deliberately small engineering partner, registered in Singapore and working with a vetted talent network across Asia. The people you meet are the people who build, led by a founder who still scopes architecture and reviews code.
Where we started
Cavalry was founded in 2019 by Adam Chan, after more than a decade as a software engineer building enterprise systems: fintech, recruitment platforms, e-commerce. He kept meeting the same problem from both sides: ambitious companies that couldn't hire the engineers they needed, and exceptional engineers across Asia the market kept overlooking.
So Cavalry became the bridge: tailored teams assembled around each client's actual needs and held to real engineering standards. First for Singapore businesses through word of mouth, then for clients worldwide. Many of our client relationships have run for over five years.
How we're built
Deliberately lean. Outside the teams themselves, Cavalry carries almost no overhead: anything that doesn't serve clients directly is outsourced, so nearly every hour goes into the work. You deal directly with the people building your product, from the first call to the last release.
And leadership stays hands-on. Adam still embeds in engagements as an engineering leader, scoping architecture, reviewing code, owning delivery. When we say senior technical leadership is included, that isn't a tier on a pricing page; it's how the company works.
Where we're going
AI changed the economics of our industry: speed became abundant, while judgment stayed rare. We saw it early. Cavalry has been building AI pipelines in production since 2023, from RAG and workflow automation to evals, fine-tuning, and now agentic systems. Small senior teams directing AI now ship what used to take departments, provided the judgment, process, and verification around them hold.
So we rebuilt Cavalry around exactly that: small AI-equipped senior teams, fixed pricing that puts the efficiency burden on our side of the table, and process and tooling we engineer as carefully as the product itself. The belief hasn't moved since 2019: people and process first. The tools finally caught up.
Adam started coding young and never really stopped. More than a decade in enterprise software, across fintech systems, recruitment platforms, and e-commerce, taught him that great software is rarely about the tools, and almost always about the people and the process around them.
He founded Cavalry in 2019 to put that conviction to work, and he's still in the work today: embedded with client teams as an engineering leader, directing AI the way he's always directed engineers, with high standards and a short feedback loop.
Operating principles
Stay small
Lean by design. Every hour serves the work.
Stay hands-on
Leadership that scopes, reviews, and ships, not just presents.
Stay honest
If you don't need us, we'll say so. Advice you can trust beats a contract you regret.
Stay accountable
We own outcomes. A miss is ours to fix, not yours to manage.
